To untangle a necklace, start by laying the necklace flat on a surface so you can see the tangle. If you can’t separate it with your fingers, work a bobby pin or a needle into the center of the knot to loosen it. It should start to come apart, and you can gently untangle the knot without pulling.

The perfect necklace length is different for everyone. Measure your favorite necklaces to see which kinds of lengths you already have, or drape a piece of string around your neck to line up where you want a chain to sit.
